5MW Wind Turbine Main Shaft Bearing Customization and Supply Project
Wind Power GenerationMain Shaft BearingsMulti-Megawatt

Project Background
The customer is a well-known domestic wind turbine manufacturer developing a new generation of 5MW onshore wind turbines, requiring a reliable main shaft bearing supplier to support development and volume supply.
Technical Challenges
- Design life requirement: 20 years (175,000 hours)
- Operating environment: Alternating loads, vibration and impact, temperature range of -40℃ to +50℃
- Bearing outer diameter: Over 1200mm
- Precision requirement: P5 grade or higher
Solution
Structural Design: A double-row spherical roller bearing structure was adopted, providing self-aligning capability to accommodate shaft deflection caused by wind loads.
Special Heat Treatment: A bainite isothermal quenching process was used to improve impact toughness and dimensional stability.
Surface Strengthening: The raceway surfaces were specially treated to improve resistance to micro-pitting.
Sealing Design: A multi-lip seal structure ensures effective protection in harsh environments.
Project Achievements
- Successfully passed the customer's bench test and field operation validation
- Achieved volume delivery capacity of more than 200 units per year
- 18 months of operation with zero failures
